The Fix. A Propensity to Discuss review.

The Fix David Baldacci

Less than 10 yards from the Hoover building, Amos Decker (Memory Man, The Last Mile) is heading into work as a person on special assignment with the FBI when he is witness to a murder. Decker draws down on the man, calls to him and then stands helplessly by as the man turns, smiles and put his gun to his own head and pulls the trigger.

The Fix. A Propensity to Discuss review.

In the newest Amos Decker novel, The Fix by David Baldacci, Amos, Alex Jamison and Agents Bogart and Milligan are together, working out of Washington and are being moved from cold cases to current ones and the murder that Decker witnessed becomes their first current case.

The gunman was a consultant who held very high security clearances and worked on top-secret government contracts and had a loving wife and family. The murdered woman was a school teacher. Even with his inexplicable awareness and memory cannot find or figure any way the two people have ever been connected.

Enter the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Agent Harper Brown. Brown is not eager to share secrets with the FBI, and certainly not with Decker and Jamison who have not yet received their security clearances.

But with nothing but questions and the possibility of stolen government secrets in the hands of a hostile government or terrorist organization, national security takes priority and the FBI team may be the only hope she has of putting a halt to a strike against the United States to rival 9/11.

A heart wrenching, edge of your seat ride like only David Baldacci can twist it, The Fix is just the thing if you are looking for espionage, derangement, and murder, mixed with friendships, hard work, brain games, and a bit of well-timed humor. As Decker and the team learn more about what it means to trust one another, you will certainly come to love this group of “good guys” a whole lot more.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book!
